Position Title:  Process Engineer, Cold Rolling

Reports to:  Director, Operations Support

Position Summary:

Provide strong technical support for the cold rolling of clad metal strip products on multiple Sendzimir cluster mills up to 25” in width.  Candidate would be expected to develop a very strong understanding of clad metal properties, product quality requirements, cold rolling processes and clad metal strip customer requirements.

Responsibilities:

• Will collaborate with Product Engineering, Manufacturing and Maintenance in a strong team environment on the cold rolling of clad metal strip products, development of manufacturing process specifications and the development of effective manufacturing process controls.
• The ability to clearly communicate with internal customers and manufacturing operations on a daily basis.
• Must identify, analyze, and resolve internal quality concerns.
• Participate and contribute in Focus Improvement and Product Manufacturing Teams.
• Must positively contribute to Productivity and Yield Improvement programs.

Education and Experience:

• 5-10 years direct experience and practical knowledge of Sendzimir (cluster type) cold continuous rolling mills
• Bachelors Degree in Engineering Sciences or prior work experience
• Knowledge of metal strip products, processing and their manufacturing operations
• Background in mechanical, analytical, metallurgical or material science.
• PC experience, MS Windows environment and MS Office Products
• Strong independent decision-making capabilities are required along with mathematical and technical writing skills.

Environment:

• office environment 80%, industrial mfg floor 20%
